Lambdin's Coptic
« on: September 14, 2013, 10:30:28 PM »
Does anyone know what phonetic transcription Lambdin used to write his Copitc grammar?
I am clueless on how to pronounce the first syllable of "I ran" ([aypot]), or the word "to stand up" ([town]) etc.

I'd have to look, but the answer to your questions is "I" (like the English pronoun), and "town" (like the English word for a smaller city) except with the "o" pronounced like "aw" in "saw" instead of like "o" in "not."
Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
