Lord have mercy.

This is good news.
The memory of God should be treasured in our hearts like the precious pearl mentioned in the Holy Gospel. Our life's goal should be to nurture and contemplate God always within, and never let it depart, for this steadfastness will drive demons away from us. - Paraphrased from St. Philotheus of Sinai

Lord have mercy!

Of all the things my father had the internal strength to stop on his own, cigarettes was the one thing he never could put away.

Do it. I did. My mom didn't. She's dead. Pancreatic cancer (smoking is the #1 cause). My dad didn't. He is almost dead. Throat and lung cancer. All because of smoking. You can and will quit!

May God give you strength to forever be done with the "wicked weed".

Lord grant you strength!

I say the best time to do it is when there is no imminent long fasting period, because you will begin to get food cravings to satisfy your need for the cigarette. Might as well be able to give in to that rather than the cigarette. Good luck! My father dropped his cigarette one day and said never again. He never again smoked.

Ορφέας Περίδης - The Cigarettes

Αχ ψυχή μου φαντασμένη
και κορμί μου μοναχό,
αν εγώ δε σας παντρέψω

if I don't marry you,
may I burn like a cigarette!
