How do you say Michał Kalina?
« on: August 22, 2013, 07:50:48 PM »
The slash in the "l" is throwing me off.

Is it Mike-AL KAH-Lee-NAH ?

Thanks, I have a vision problem and did not notice the "ł" in Michał until now.
That explains a lot.

I would suggest most persons in general avoid any question beginning with why.

Michał Kalina is pronounced: Chuck Norris

The term planet earth is an innovation which has arisen in recent centuries with the error of heliocentrism.

If one wants to confess a pure doctrine of Orthodoxy, they should be careful not to refer to the earth as a planet, unlike the current Pope as well as Patriarch Kirill and Patriarch Bartholomew, who regularly speak in error when they refer to our planet earth.

Awesome!  :)

You'd be Mihai Călin in Romanian... Your surname is also a common first name around here.

And in Greek, Μιχαήλ Δαφνής (mi-kha-EEl da-fnEEs), also a common surname here, or (more specifically) Μιχαήλ Βακκίνος (mi-kha-EEl va-kEE-nos) since the plant Viburnum is Βακκίνιον (va-kEE-nee-on) in Greek. I'm pretty sure I went to the same school with a Βακκίνος guy in my early school years
