Only with posts pimping those blogs. A simple link (in signature or profile) is easy to ignore, if one so wishes.

Yup.  The only one I can recall NOT ignoring is FatherG's.

No. I don't have a blog myself because I don't have anything to say which worth saying, but I don't mind reading other people's blogs.

Exactly. Just a signature would be fine. But the incessant pimping is downright agonizing. Why do we think we are some authority on anything simply because we may have a blog?

Yup.  The only one I can recall NOT ignoring is FatherG's.

The one by Fr. Aidan is great (user akimel)...

As for the general habit of mentioning blogs (not in signatures, but in posts), if someone has made a helpful blog entry, which is perhaps a bit too long for general forum reading, I think links to it are great. I'm less of a fan of reposting blog material here as a new thread, which often just confused me as to whether it is meant to start a discussion about the topic in general, about the post in particular, the writing style, or whatever else...  Cool

For some reason, whenever I tried logging on to Fr. Aidan's blog, my computer slowed down to the point of almost crashing.  This happens with a lot of other blog sites, too, but for some reason, not Fr.G's.  Go figure. Huh   So....I tend to ignore most blog sites.

Most theology/religion blogs are boring and/or poorly written. That's why I only follow music blogs that are boring and/or poorly written.
