Road trip
« on: August 16, 2013, 08:52:14 AM »
About 150 scooterists of all ages will converge on a small campground outside of Harrisburg this weekend.  I am riding up from Baltimore and meeting a number of people riding up from DC.  Please remember us all in your prayers for a safe weekend, especially myself and those of my riding group: Michael, Gary, Kevin, and Davide.

May the Lord be merciful and keep everyone safe, and send good weather!

Have a wonderful time!
Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.

Have fun :) Lord have mercy!
We all have an El Guapo to face. Be brave, and fight like lions!

Form a 'brute squad' then!

Lord, have mercy. Keep the rubber side down.
Psalm 37:23 The Lord guides a man safely in the way he should go.

Prov. 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.

As far as I know there were no injuries this weekend although a few people did manage to fall off their bikes during the gymkana (aka obstacle course)!  Even then, damage to the bikes was minimal and the ego of the rider was hurt more than his or her ride.

Weather was perfect going up.  We did get caught in the rain a bit on the way back but that was largely our fault, as one of my riding partners decided at 5am that he was going to go back to Richmond then so he could get some work done before his boss came back on Monday.  Since I was awake, I elected to go with him knowing that there was going to be some light showers in the early morning.  By the time we left Gettysburg at 8am after stopping for breakfast, the sky was gray but dry and we both made great time.

I also managed to surprise my wife who was leaving that morning for a week long work trip, although my dog ruined some of the surprise as he must have heard my bike around the corner and started freaking out, as he does, tipping her off that I was home.  Still, it was nice to see her for a few hours before she was off.
