Lilith isn't mentioned in the Bible. I believe she is mentioned in the midrash.

Why do you bother, kid?

when When god God created (since you are an atheist, I will let this one slide, but it should be "Created") adam Adam and then eve Eve out of his rib, eve Eve was not his first wife, his first wife was Lilith (how do you get "Lilith" correct but not get "Adam" and "Eve" correct?). that is all thanks for reading guys
This is a Jewish tradition and has no holding in Orthodox Christianity.

No, she isn't.

She is only mentioned in traditional stories outside of the Bible. Not in the Bible. She is not mentioned in the Old Testament.

You type like a kid. God help us all if someone with your lack of communication skills is actually old enough to drive a car.

Uh, the page is from Wikipedia which is not a credible academic source, and it again says nothing about her being in Isaiah, because she is not. I had to laugh: click on the page and the entire thing is about the midrash.

She is mentioned, if you even read the page itself, as being in other Jewish traditional sources. Again: not Isaiah.

You didn't even read what you posted, Phil. Quit horsing around. Aren't there other things you can do besides troll? Shouldn't you be going back to school this month?

Why do you keep changing the subject? You haven't shifted the burden of proof and no one was talking about the pre-Christian Jewish community.

Again, what are you talking about and what is your point? Are you just looking for attention?

You don't seem to understand that those Jewish traditions are far newer than our Christian ones. Lilith isn't in the Bible, or in Christian Tradition.

Maybe in Jewish tradition, but I still don't see the relevance if Lilith existed or not, what does that matter? As I recall, Lilith was a bad seed which was why she was allegedly cast out of Eden first and Eve was created.

Lilith isn't real according to us, buddy.

Lilith is a later Jewish tradition, the Christians never believed in it. And unless you showed us where in the Christian Tradition this story is authenticated, then we won't accept it, no matter how much you insist she existed.

The Jews and Romans who crucified Him were forgiven by Him. "Father, forgive them they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34) Plus, Christ willingly went to the Cross. They didn't force Him there.

And no, Jesus didn't celebrate Passover. The breaking of the bread happened before Passover began.

yea Yeah, just call me an atheist and say that eveything jewish Jewish is different from not christian Christian, jesus Jesus was a jew Jew.
Jesus rejected the traditions of men, of which the Midrash is chief next to, what is known today as, the Talmud.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lilith
this This is a link leading readers to an article about lilith Lilith adams first wife, who is mentioned in the Book of isiaih Isaiah in the old testament thank you.
Possibly, the Masoretic Isaiah 34:14 mentions Lilith.

The wilde beasts of the desert shall also meete with the wilde beasts of the Iland and the satyre shall cry to his felow, the shrichowle also shall rest there, & finde for her selfe a place of rest.

The word for "shrichowle" (Screech Owl) in Hebrew is transliterated as "Lilith."  The Septuagint doesn't even mention a Screech Owl.

Either way, it is not a reference to Adam's "first wife."

you You haven't disproven anything jesus Jesus celebrated passover purim and Hanukkah Passover, Purim, and Hanukkah and stated that he was the prophet of the jews Jews were waiting for which is why the romans or jews Jews (all Orthodox Christians believe the Jews betrayed Jesus) which ever you believe crucified him.
What did His Jewishness have to do with a Midrash that didn't even appear until the sixth century.

Do you honestly believe that the discussions of Jewish Rabbis are "basically the Old Testament" for Orthodox Christians.

The Jews don't even have the same books in their Tanakh as our Old Testament.

You do realize that Jesus wasn't born on December 25, right?  That is just the day that we celebrate the Nativity, no one knows for sure when He was actually born.  As far as I'm aware of, the Church has never even claimed that the date of December 25 was accurate.

and when you state that sun and son are homophones this is true the part about the procession of the equionox is important the sun is just on the pices now so the sun is aligned iwth the pices constelation and in the bible states that jesus is the SON OF GOD  the bible is purely allegorical

if god is real then why did god create lucifer know that he would disobey him and tempt adam and eve in the garden creating the fallen world leading to the fallen world judas's betraying jesus and his eventual crucifixion?
if god is all knowing?
god knew in advance than man would fail the test
and this set the stage for everything so whats the point
god is omniscient he knew eve would eat the apple
whats the point

Hey this is a fun thread!

I want to play too!

phil makes some good points, but he forgot the most convincing argument of all. god is really dog spelled backwards and we all know that dog the bounty hunter is probably the coolest guy in the the world, so I think that god was really based off of dog the bounty hunter.  let us look at the comparisons.  dog has long hair.  god does too when he was jesus.  dog lost his job when he was arrested and bounced from his show on a&e.  jesus lost his job as super cool prophet dood when he was arrested for pretending he was god.

proof that jesus is based of of dog the bounty hunter.

bazinga!

dog has long hair.  god does too when he was jesus.

A masterpiece of succinct, grammatically and theologically unacceptable BS.

when When god God created (since you are an atheist, I will let this one slide, but it should be "Created") adam Adam and then eve Eve out of his rib, eve Eve was not his first wife, his first wife was Lilith (how do you get "Lilith" correct but not get "Adam" and "Eve" correct?). that is all thanks for reading guys
This is a Jewish tradition and has no holding in Orthodox Christianity.

Thank you for editing. My eyes were getting sore with all the errors.

I think it may be a a Jewish tradition that is not widespread. At least I hope so.
