My Father
« on: August 15, 2013, 09:29:38 AM »
Dear friends, I ask for prayers for my father who, to my knowledge, only acknowledges the existence of God, but denies all other aspects of Christianity on a personal level.

He is elderly, had several heart attacks, stints implanted and during his last recent episode was told he needed bypass surgery or would not live another five years, if he were that lucky.  My guess is much less.  He has been called twice for openings to have the operation, but denied it both times.  I believe he is fearful and thinks he will die in the hospital.  He is an old farmer, Vietnam vet, mechanic tough guy and would never openly admit to this.  I have attempted since my teens to discuss Jesus with him, but it usually ends up with his saying, “Me and the man upstairs have an understanding” to which he hurriedly changes the topic of discussion.

I worry for him and what is to come.  Please try to remember to pray for his salvation. His name is Lynn.  Thank you!

May the Lord have mercy upon Lynn and grant him not only bodily health, but, spiritual health and acceptance.

Lord have mercy.
Psalm 37:23 The Lord guides a man safely in the way he should go.

Prov. 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.
