Wedding ring mishap
« on: August 12, 2013, 01:02:15 AM »
I had the head replaced on the center stone of my wedding ring about a year or so ago. Today I noticed that the entire center head (including the emerald) fell out of my ring. Prayers that we could find the head/stone, and that the jeweler has some sort of warranty on repairs would be appreciated. It wasn't the prongs that failed, it was the ENTIRE head.

Through the intercessions of Saint Tryphon, LORD help Quinault find her ring head/stone.

Dear Saint Fanourios would help in such situations. ;)

Lord, have mercy!

I hope it fell off at home and that you find it soon!!!

Lord have mercy!
Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,
and urgent strife sheds blood.
If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
if you spit on it, it will be put out;
                           and both come out of your mouth

Lord have mercy.

St. Nicholas of Myra pray to God for us.
The memory of God should be treasured in our hearts like the precious pearl mentioned in the Holy Gospel. Our life's goal should be to nurture and contemplate God always within, and never let it depart, for this steadfastness will drive demons away from us. - Paraphrased from St. Philotheus of Sinai

Lord, have mercy.
"If you are going to serve the Lord, be prepared for times when you will be put to the test. Be sincere and determined. Keep calm when trouble comes. Stay with the Lord; never abandon Him and you will be prosperous at the end of your days. Accept whatever happens to you. Even if you suffer humiliation, be patient. Gold is tested by fire and human character is tested in the furnace of humiliation. Trust the Lord and He will help you. Walk straight in His ways and put your hope in Him. " Sir 2:1-6

It looks like it is an emerald ring.

Lord have mercy, may your servant Quinalt find her stone setting.

My wedding ring is worth closer to 1k now. It has appreciated in value more than 50%.

No luck finding the stone. I will be checking the vacuum cleaner bag next. The jeweler only warranties their work for 6 months :( So I am not going to get them to do anything. They certainly won't replace the stone. And they wouldn't fix the ring and re-install the stone even if I were to find it.

St. Nectarios and St. Nicholas pray to God for us.

Did you check the drain pipes? It could be stuck in the trap.
This could be a design flaw. Future stones could be sprung by a spring like action.

The ring was absolutely fine for the 15 years I had it before the head was replaced. I am almost positive that it was faulty work on my ring.
