It's free, though. I did it myself and got a score without paying.

I got a 142 once. Back then, we had the paper booklets you'd fill out.

Some of this may have been subtracted or modified by various beverage choices since then.

LOL. Some of the problems were math related and a calculator is much quicker than in your head, like if you add all the numbers from 1 to 16 together, is the final number even? Or something like that. I didn't use a calculator for any, but I did guess on one or two.  Anyway, my scores on these vary quite a bit, but are generally in the 120 to 140 range, depending on mood, how many distractions I have, how hungry I am, what the test is like, what types of questions, etc.

There must have been some error.  You seem rather intelligent but your IQ would put you at trainable, yet still retarded.

Only on the mathematical questions.  Since time is a factor I would probably have been somewhat sub-genius if I had not used one.  Then again, there are very few times when I am without a calculator of any sort so I found not using one to be pointless.

When I was 14 I suffered a severe head injury and the school district, in order to determine whether I needed to be placed in resource (special needs) classes had me take an IQ test. The test took six hours, I scored a 134 so I no longer had a good excuse for my poor grades. I'm not sure what the scale was for the test I took, but I'm pretty sure I'm no genius.

Tests are usually calibrated so that 100 is the average score.  If so you scored near the top.  I thought that 135 was a genius, so technically you wouldn't be one...but you would still be considered HIGHLY intelligent.  This could also be a good excuse for your bad grades.  Most school is designed to turn you into a manufacturing drone without free thought.  You were probably smarter than your teachers.  I found that this often leads to bad grades...they don't like competition.   Cheesy

Why did you get bad grades?  Did the course work bore or annoy you?  Those would be signs of high intelligence.

I suppose I wasn't that interested in or engaged by the coursework, but I am inclined to attribute it to teenage immaturity and laziness. I do remember thinking high school was a joke and that the teachers were wasting my time. They often seemed as apathetic to the material as I was.

I am now in a masters program with a full ride scholarship so I ended up changing my ways:). Being able to choose my classes helped as well.

I scored 128, without a calculator, and sometimes without even thinking. The highest I've ever scored was 142, and I'm just glad that advancing age and degenerating academic environment have not done a bigger number on the brainmeats.
