God answered our prayers in the person of Mina, who is known for his Orthodox spirituality, Orthodox teachings and saintly asceticism.

The name Anthony is well chosen. The original Anthony and the new version have left a very comfortable life behind them to be consecrated for God.

The name Paul is a prophecy of what is yet to come.

Axios Axios Axios Anthony Paul the Deacon!

Many years!

What's the St Paul Brotherhood?

My understanding is that at the core it is like a traditional monastic community, following a rule of prayer and practicing asceticism and solitude. But while a traditional monk will work several hours a day in manual labour in order to aid them in their rule of prayer, the work assigned to those in the brotherhood is outward facing service to the diocese, such as teaching, visits, etc. (the traditional role of a deacon, but secondary to ascetic life as they are a community of celibates).

Axios and Congratulations  Deacon Anthony Paul. I was actually lucky enough to attend his ordination at St. Maurice Coptic Orthodox Church. Soon after Bishop Serapion gave him and helped him put on the Deacon tunic, I saw Deacon Anthony Paul become very emotional, almost to the point of tears. I'm sure he just thinking of how great a turning point this was in his life.

Looking at the pictures posted in the link, I saw that I am standing on the men's side with crossed hands wearing a black t-shirt.

Axios! Axios! Axios!

May the Lord God grant His faithful servant, Deacon Antony Paul, many, many years! May the good Deacon be strengthened by the Grace of God, empowered to his ministry of service in the Church. May the mighty arm of the Lord protect him, and hold him constant. And may the good Deacon, by the Grace of God, serve faithfully and hold fast to the Faith, even to the end of his days.

Axios! Axios! Axios!

I knew Dn. Anthony through online long time ago in coptichymns.net...I'm very happy for the appointment. And the name given is because of his huge love for St. Antonios. May God bless him for many fruitful years to come.

Dn. Antony Paul will now be ordained to the presbyteriate for the celibate ministry on November 10!

We are very happy to have Fr. Dcn. Antony in our Diocese and wish him many years of blessed service.

Yes, God willing, we hope to move all of coptichymns.net's content to LACopts, but it is a slow process. We need your fervent prayers.

That's good news about coptichymns.net.  I posted there occasionally and I was sad when it was taken down.  Will it be an active forum again?

The members congregation His Reverence will serve should consider themselves very blessed to be served by Fr Anthony.

I hope the Church considers ordaining the celibate priests to Episcopates.

You can say that again! (I hope he isn't reading this LOL) but I have grown to be very fond of Fr. Dcn. Antony, and can say with all honesty that he is the sort of man I can see being a reflection of Jesus Christ. May God give him support in his ministry, and let's all remember to pray for his service.
