The forum clock has consistently been showing the wrong time for as long as I have been around. It is about twelve minutes behind. This is a bit annoying when I am trying to figure out which posts I have read and not.
This is a great day for this forum and for the internet. Mor's energies like a burning comet are raining possibilities for enlightenment upon us all.
Everyone wants Mor.
Mor, you're a jackass.
At the top of the page is a link "unread posts since last visit". Click on it and it will show you what you've not yet seen.
There are time stamps all over the forum and this is basically a good thing, but it does not help much when the time is wrong and I am browsing and trying to assert (quickly) if someone posted in the thread or not since I last read it, for example when I see it listed in the forum, and so on. I refuse to see this as a good thing and I hope you calendar zealots are joking, but alright I guess it is hard to fix it then. A small issue but itty bitty disturbing.
I got nothing.
I forgot the maps
Calendar jokes like that are not funny, and I think that those who make such jokes are afraid to say what they think. It is easier then to say it in the form of a joke. If you are criticised, you can always say that you were not serious. What I meant when I said I hope you are joking was this: I hope you did not set the forum clock like that on purpose.
I order you and all your subjects to be baptized. If you refuse, I'll have you killed on the spot and I swear I will ravage every island with fire and steel.
So after beating it to death, now we just joke about it. And when we have something further to say, we bring it to the area that it belongs in (the thread I linked to)Now to the topic at hand. There is no way that we are ignoramus enough to set the clock back by 12 seconds. It was a mistake that was made the last time we did an update to the system and would take the kind of man-hours that no one has time to put into something so miniscule & not all that important. If a 12 second delay on the time stamp somehow doesn't make sense to you & really bothers you, i truly am sorry. But until we get around to fixing it...you'll just have to deal with it.
You're a stick in the mud, Jord.
What serb1389 meant to say is: We all know that (fill in the blank based on your preference) calendarists are evil schismatics deserving only of the fiery torments of hell, but we tolerate them because Christ Himself acknowledged that there would be chaff in with the wheat, so we just secretly rub our hands in glee until they get their comeuppance.
It's a 12 minute difference--not 12 seconds. And 12 is the number of bakers, who obviously prize the sin of gluttony, which is obviously a favored sin of Americans, which obviously shows the western bias for gluttonous sin being promoted by the subtle but ever-pervasive time discrepancy. We see through you, oc.net powers that be!
It's 18 minutes slow for me. Is it because I am a Muslim (thus a Christian heretic)?
My computer shows 2:14 PM PSTYet the board shows: 1:56 PM Alaska Standard Time
In your proper timezone, under look and layout Preferences, put -0.7 as the offset, and it will get you within seconds.
An update, because of something that I have no clue on, the decimal has shifted from .7 to .66, and those of us in Eastern Standard Time should use -.66 to correct the time now.EDIT: .66 is the proper one, and .67 is not bad off, but .66 is closer.

dont forget to add an hour for DST, now making is for me on EDT as .39
The proper offset is now 0.445 for those in the Eastern (US) Daylight Time zone.
Maybe we just need to come up with a new time system...The Revised Board Clock....or something...

Quote from: SolEX01 on April 28, 2014, 10:09:26 PMThe proper offset is now 0.445 for those in the Eastern (US) Daylight Time zone. How were you able to insert 0.445? I could only insert two and seven tenth (2.7), two and six tenths (2.6), or two and five tenths (2.5). I tried to refine the offset, but I could not go lower than a tenth.

I didn't have any problems entering 0.445.
The forum time offset is now 0.005.
