Muslims promote Sharia law. Why do Christians not promote their law?

Some Muslim communities run with Sharia law. Other nations with a high Muslim population promote Sharia. It would seem from this phenomenon that Muslim law can be used to run a society as it does so in a few countries.

I know of no country that uses Christian or biblical law and have not heard of any Christian effort to have their law accepted in their nation.

This indicates that either Muslims are more religious than Christians, or Christians know that their laws would never be accepted as the law of the land.

Meanwhile, the vast majority of nations have rejected both sets of religious laws for a more secular approach to law and governance.

Briefly ---

Which of these three sets of laws do you think are superior and why?

So, if, for instance, the Christians who constitute a majority (or at least a plurality) in a nation vote to be ruled and have those who are not Christians be ruled by the 10 Commandments and Church Canon Law, that indicates that the Christians in said nation are not religious?  What the hell kind of standard is that?

When I was young, one of my favourite Looney Toons characters was Speedy Gonzales.  Unfortunately, you can't find Speedy's cartoons on television because of their alleged ethnic stereotypes.  Is that really an issue?  Maybe I was too young to notice, but I didn't think they were particularly bad.  Certainly the comedy of people like George Lopez, Cheech and Chong, etc. promotes more ethnic stereotyping than the cartoon, and yet they're not banned.  Can we get Speedy at least on some "big people" channels?

I learned more Spanish from watching Sesame Street and by working with a Spanish guy for 6 months at a car dealership.

Greatest, which Christian Law are you referring to?  Loving God and loving our neighbor?  The New Testament offers no basis for a "Christian" system of law as it is normally understood.

The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church vigorously promotes its law. There are 5 laws according to our Church Teaching:

1. Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind, soul, and strength.
2. Love your neighbor as yourself.
3. Love your enemies and bless those that persecute you.
4. Love one another as Christ loves the Church.
5. Whatsoever you would have others do unto you, do also unto them.

His position is a smurfy peculiarity--for he is called "equal to papa smurf," which in less enlightened times would be rendered "equal to the most awesome." I do not think this is officially the position of all, however, and may only be a local smurf glorificational title.

Christians "promoting our law" are called radical anabaptists.

Anyone rembember the kingdom of "New Jerusalem"? The city is named Münster today.

A Christian theocratic police state, hilarious and frightening at the same time.
They were going to conquer the entire world with God's help. Sadly it all ended in 1533.

Our laws are informed by Christian values and Tradition.. For example, we don't cut off a person's hand for stealing. The foundational concepts are from the 10 commandments.. We also have a concept of mercy..Catch up.

Separation of Church and State.
I actually agree with this and not just "church" but Synagogue and Mosque as well.

This may be taken the wrong way but I believe "christians" are the biggest obstruction many times  to mete out real justice in much of Western cultures these days.

Many religious people have a warped sense of reality.

Because we don't care enough, maybe in the future when things like Abortion and such take their great evil to the extreme you will have people caring but not today.

Who said that?

Greatest, which Christian Law are you referring to?  Loving God and loving our neighbor?  The New Testament offers no basis for a "Christian" system of law as it is normally understood.

Mostly laws like stoning fornicators and unruly children.

We don't have one.  We live not under the law, but grace.

Is that why so many U. S citizens are in jail as compared to other nations?
