Dear Asteriktos,

If that guy on the far left is a real bear then I'm a monkey's uncle.  No bear bears arms that long.

Love, elephant

Well no, they aren't all bears. Tailspin was a multi-cultural (or, I guess, multi-species) show.

Yeah, I thought there was something fishy about the phony-looking bear.

The term planet earth is an innovation which has arisen in recent centuries with the error of heliocentrism.

If one wants to confess a pure doctrine of Orthodoxy, they should be careful not to refer to the earth as a planet, unlike the current Pope as well as Patriarch Kirill and Patriarch Bartholomew, who regularly speak in error when they refer to our planet earth.

You people don't understand the spirit of Christian bearology when it comes to cases like this. You are following the letter of the administrative law without taking into consideration the deeper spiritual meaning. Consider this key text from the Old Testament:

"For, said Hushai, thou knowest thy father and his men, that they be mighty men, and they be chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field: and thy father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people." (2 Sam. 17:8)

What does "mighty men" mean here? Not mighty in terms of physical strength, but in terms of humility. They are mightily humble! Yet their minds are chafed--but why? Because someone has done something to this poor bear--has, in fact, robber her of her children? This is more than she can bear. So what then? The mighty men go to war, not of a physical kind with shields and swords, but with prayer! Fasting! Alms! These mighty men shall console and help the bear, and the child-bears. In fact, they will not lodge with the people--that is, they will not go to the lodge to sleep with the people, until this is accomplished. Do you not see what a righteous man will do for a bear in need? A bear in need is a bear indeed! Now then, if this bear in the cartoon wants to befriend a primate, to make them part of their life, to even give them a juicy gig in the cast, who are we to argue with them? We should accept this, not look down on him for it!

I congratulate myself for my vision and on a job well done.  ;D

Note to this gentleman, I would not recommend going outside in this attire come hunting season.

But the overwhelming majority of the pics it showed were of a different type of bear. I should have known...

Looks like something Salvador Dali would have painted.

Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.

As a cross-thread joke I wanted to post a pic of a bear with a beard. A google image search did provide this one (wut?):

But the overwhelming majority of the pics it showed were of a different type of bear. I should have known...

This is far too apocalyptic.  See the post above.

Looks like something Salvador Dali would have painted.

He creeps me out.

Ya, me too.  Leaves me uncomfortable.

Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.
