I am a strong proponent of the right to bear arms.  Without it, our arms could become too cold.

Note: It has come to my attention that some may try to use the unfortunately named title of this thread to attempt a political discussion.  Please refrain from such activities.  This thread is exclusively to discuss bear arms.

I've always been a staunch supporter of our right to bear arms. It's rather comfortable in winter and scares all potential robbers away.

Who is that (I'm guess not Franklin), and whoever it is, what happened to his nose?

May we also discuss the right to bare arms in this thread, or are you a bear-only type?

The question is, do bears have the right to bare arms? And if so, should bears impose bare arms on bears who oppose bare arms? I admit that these are difficult questions to bear.

I am more interested in the right to arm bears.  I find hunting repulsive and think bears should be able to defend themselves.

Don't be ridiculous. Bears already have powerful arms that they used for fighting and hunting. What kind of bear do you think would survive in the wild without any arms?

Bears already have arms.  It appears, however, that elephants do not.

This thread is not about noses.  Be that as it may, though, the discoloration (?) of not-Franklin's nose could very well be a result of hunting bears in bright sun under the influence of too much alcohol with no zinc-oxide to put on it.  The nose, that is, not the bear.

Thank you, J Michael, for keeping this thread on topic.  It is quite shocking the lengths people will go to subvert the very important topic at hand regarding bear arms.

Personally I find the topic of armed elephants more important.  Elephants have been going to war for a long time.  Hannibal armed elephants and entered Italy.

What you say about elephants and war is quite true.  However, elephants are well known, in spite of their great girths and strength, to be totally armless.  Back to bears:

Now that we are done enlarging J Michael's ego, can we get back to the important topic of armed bears?  I support it, but these little fellows look like they are up to no good.

I know it's off-topic, but is your Uncle Morty a southerner?

Nah, Uncle Morty was originally from up here in the north. He sold raincoats for Harry Fleming for 38 years and was a wizard at it. He moved down to Florida to retire back in the 90s.

I don't see a smile on that bear's face, though.  Those humans look kinda crazy to me.  Both these things are worrisome.

I thought as much.  Northern bears, well....here, this says it better:

Well east coast bears are hip
I really dig those styles they wear
And the southern bears with the way they talk
They knock me out when Im down there

The mid-west farmers daughters really make you feel alright
And the northern bears with the way they kiss
They keep their boyfriends warm at night

I wish they all could be california
I wish they all could be california
I wish they all could be california bears

The west coast has the sunshine
And the bears all get so tanned
I dig a french bikini on hawaii island
Dolls by a palm tree in the sand

I been all around this great big world
And I seen all kinds of bears
Yeah, but I couldnt wait to get back in the states
Back to the cutest bears in the world

I wish they all could be california
I wish they all could be california
I wish they all could be california bears

I wish they all could be california
(bears, bears, bears yeah I dig the)
I wish they all could be california
(bears, bears, bears yeah I dig the)
I wish they all could be california
(bears, bears, bears yeah I dig the)
I wish they all could be california
(bears, bears, bears yeah I dig the)
