Feast Day for St. Leonides of Alexandria?
« on: July 08, 2013, 12:43:31 PM »
Is there a feast day for St. Leonides of Alexandria, the father of Origen. I know the Roman Catholic Church celebrate him on April 22. What about the Orthodox Church? What about the Oriental Orthodox? (I can't find his name in the Coptic Synexarium)
Vain existence can never exist, for "unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain." (Psalm 127)

If the faith is unchanged and rock solid, then the gates of Hades never prevailed in the end.

There is an EO martyr Leonides of Egypt, martyred under emperor Maximian, feast day June 5. No idea if it's the same one.

No...100 years too late.

The father of Origen was killed by the emperor Severus around 202
