I have knowledge about the various denominations like the Armenians,Ethiopians, Copts, Romans etc who lay claim to the church. As such certain plots of the church buildings have been allocated to the various groups. I'm curious to know how this situation came about. Wasn't there principally one group who are traditionally of the church ?

Also what are your opinions on the fights that happen between the groups there

For it is a matter of necessity that every Church
should agree with this Church [of Rome] , on account of
its preeminent authority

Would the heretics dare to come to the very seat of Peter whence apostolic faith is derived and whither no errors can come?

There are other threads also.  If you click on the Jerusalem tag, below, that will lead you to other discussions.   Smiley

To a large extent, the Ottomans and Crusaders are to blame.

The Roman (or Greek, as they're also called) Orthodox Patriarchate.

Shameful.
