Hello all,

Would anyone be able to tell me where I can find resources on marriage and dating?

Specifically:

-Orthodox Christian view of marriage
-resources for dating or married couples, Orthodox or otherwise

Websites or books are good.

I already know the books they have on the Orthodox Christian publishing companies.  If someone has read a good one please let me know what it was.

General point of interest, I found the advice given to St Columbanus on his lady troubles to be helpful: "Remember the warning examples of David, Samson, and Solomon, who were led astray by the love of women. There is no security for you except in flight."

When I realized that I had been thoroughly deceived about dating and marriage in the church I grew up in (the Southern Baptist Church), I read the Song of Solomon about five times while praying for guidance from the Holy Spirit.  That helped me tremendously.  After all, you'll never find a more orthodox book than the Bible itself. 

Some people in this forum have sometimes told me it is not good to read the Song of Solomon for wisdom about dating and marriage.  However, I for one think the Song is not only about Christ and the Church but also about a wise progression from dating into holy marriage and beyond.  I believe it was given to us from God for our wisdom and growth.  I'd use it, coupled with prayer, first and foremost if I were you.
