My dad, my daughter, and family dynamics.
« on: June 25, 2013, 12:40:44 AM »
I am visiting my family. My father went missing and hasn't been answering his phone. We suspect drug relapse.  My daughter, age 4, has never been in this situation before.
Please pray for me to show compassion to her needs and wisdom to protect her from this dysfunctional dynamic.

Lord have mercy Mokek Kwe and the family. St. Ephriam of Nea Makri pray for them.
Psalm 37:23 The Lord guides a man safely in the way he should go.

Prov. 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.

Thank y'all for prayers.  My dad came back home today, after 48 hours.  Please pray for me to handle this well.  I considered not letting him see my daughter anymore, but I am really struggling making any decisions and am not feelings very clear minded.

A lot has happened since last week.  This week, he disappeared on Sunday while I was at liturgy.  It is now Thursday night and he has not returned.  We are trying now to get the police involved after a very interesting, scary, and detailed night last night involving phone calls from him where his calls were getting dropped and he was hallucinating and had a gun with him.

My daughter and I are due to leave tomorrow.  Oh, I covet any prayers.  :(
I am hopeful that he will return safely and we will be able to have him committed to a rehab program.

hopefully the gun is a hallucinating one as well (not real).
it is terrible for him to put you all through this, may God give you strength and show your dad a better way.
prayers for you, sister.

So the incident was actually an incident instead of hallucinations.  He got attacked by 5 guys.  He fought them off and fired off a warning shot with his gun.  He called the police for help. They suspected he was on drugs but couldn't arrest him because they searched his truck and they couldn't find "anything".

Dad came home the night before we left.  I told him right before I said goodbye that he needed to go to rehab or he risked never seeing me or my daughter again.  He said he "couldn't".... :(

Please pray for me to have wisdom and grace in handling this and in protecting myself and my daughter.
