Movie industry or something

I don't watch the Game of Thrones series because of how explicit they are. The books have sexual content. The television series added a TON of sexual content. Entire scenes are completely made up (all scenes with Little Finger and the prostitutes in the brothel, and the scene where Joffery makes one of the prostitutes beat the other one come to mind). The added sexuality does not further the plotline. I watched the entire first season, I kept hoping that it would be less sexual in later episodes since the books aren't as sexual. I watched a couple episodes in the second season in hopes that they would tone down the sexuality since they didn't have to pander to get an audience. Instead the episodes became even more sexual.

It's a real shame that GoT is needlessly adding sexual content. The actor playing Tyrion does such a superb job, I want to watch the series just to see his portrayal. And the portrayal of Danerys is also very well done. But I can't stomach the rest of the show, so I gave up watching.

If you seek out books/movies/television episodes for sexual/violent content then I personally think it is sinful. I am by no means a prude, but GoT is far too much for me. I have never even attempted to watch True Blood. Since it is based on the Sookie Sackhouse books which are basically lit porn, I have steer clear of it.

I generally love GoT, but I find the sex scenes, especially in the first season, extremely boring, though I must disagree with Quinault, since I actually think they have been cutting down on the sex scenes, especially in the third season.

Of which Im very glad of. I do believe a major character's actress said "no more" and refuses to be nude. Good for her :)

I find the topic a little difficult. I like GoT, because of the amazingly complex characters and the interesting storyline. But, at the same time, I can see, why some might dislike the show, because it has a lot of nudity, and, what some would call torture porn.

Yeah. I read somewhere Emilia Clarke (Khaleesi) doesn't want to be nude either.

I didn't make it to the third season. The added scene with Joffery and the prostitutes made me want to hurl.

I'll agree with you here.

Just a quick warning. If you do decide to watch the third season, be prepared for some really disturbing torture scenes.

I figured they would have a great deal of fun with torture. I gave up on the television series. I like the stories, I'll just re-read the books if I want to revisit the story.

People usually have no idea how the MPAA rates movies. If you did, you would know this thread is even more ridiculous than it seems to be.

Everything is a sin.

I'm not even sure the MPAA knows how it rates movies ;)

According to the docudrama This Film Is Not Yet Rated this would not be all that far off.

Why was this split? The OP in the original thread mentioned GoT specifically, thus the discussion about GoT in the thread. This topic split makes zero sense, the title of this new thread makes even less sense.

GoT is a television series, not a movie.

I really have to wonder if a certain mod is a little too topic-split-happy. Do you think you have to prove you are a good mod by just splitting topics at random?
