Would it be ok if an EO was to get a tatoo of a coptic cross under the wrist to support the Coptic Christians who have been and continue to be killed?

This EO has one.

While my friend was in the navy he had a lot of Egyptian friends serving as well who all had crosses on their wrists, so being OCA he got a three bared one.  I have been considering doing the same for some time.

Same here, I just remembered recently as there was some discussion to this a year ago.

And I wanted to live life tattoo free, oh well.

I have actually heard my own Coptic Priest condemn the practice because he says it goes against the teachings of Scripture (I am not saying whether I agree or disagree with him). In any case, the support you guys are showing for Egypt's Copts during this difficult time really touches me. Thank you all!

Do you know how to upload photos on your computer?

If so, when creating a new post, go to "additional options" and go to "attach", then select your photo.

Ok do you know how to take pictures with it? There should be an app on your phone labeled "Camera"

Take a picture of your tattoo. And there should be an option to send that by email. Send it to your email address and save the picture to your desktop on your PC. Then go to this website:

http://imgur.com/

Select the "Computer" option, upload it and then copy the url to this page.

Well duh.

I'm talking about the black marks around the cross. I'm unfamilar with coptic cross imagery, I only know of the much more elongated cross, and never seen it done as you have depicted.

In any case, the support you guys are showing for Egypt's Copts during this difficult time really touches me. Thank you all!
While I agree with the priest to condemn the practice, my reasons are different in that they're practical.  Some use the OT scripture against tattooing, but I would disagree with the use of OT rules for obvious reasons (those kids with fro-hawks would be condemned under OT law too you know).  But some priests do use NT rule for the body being the temple of God, which is reasonable, though debatable.  For me, it's the fact that Copts in Egypt get a tattoo usually at the age of 3 or less for a means of protection and strong sense of identity against a daunting majority.  The Copts outside of Egypt tend to embellish on their wrist tattoos by making it larger, more colorful, as if they're showing off a design rather than a sense of identity.  It's really to me an insult to the cross and the purpose of the wrist tattoo, and it loses its significance as a means for evangelization and it rather becomes joining the masses with their beautiful embellishments.

So ya, this Copt here does not have a cross tattoo on his wrist.
