Western Rite in France - Serbian/Romanian jurisdictions
« on: May 18, 2013, 08:06:48 PM »
Dear Friends in Christ,

Does anyone have any information (parish listings, websites etc.) on the Western Rite parishes currently under the Romanian and Serbian patriarchates in France? We are hoping to develop an information and links page on our website.

I have tried the usual methods (Google, Wiki etc.) but so far have only found defunct websites and dead ends.

If anyone can provide information, it would be much appreciated.

In Christ,

ROCORWRVUK

I think the Romanians have called quits in the nineties or so anyways during patriarch Teoctist's reign. Then ECOF went "vagans".

Fr. Aidan's Occidentalis lists one Romanian bi-ritual parish in France
The user should probably be sleeping by now.

Thanks for the input.

From what I've dug up so far, when ECOF split with the RP in the mid-90s, a small deanery remained with the RP and was absorbed into the local RP diocese. From what you have said, it appears that the bi-ritual parish in Paris might be all that's left of this deanery.

Another group that split from ECOF ended up petitioning the SP and were received sometime in the 00s but I can't find out anything about them, or even if they still exist.
