Best Place to Order Icons Online?
« on: May 15, 2013, 02:29:53 PM »
I need helping finding a new retailer online that sells Icons. I tried the Archangel Store online, but that place is horrible. It takes over a month for your package to arrive and shipping cost like $20. So, what's the best place on the net to purchase Icons?
Until I see the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come, I will not believe.

I like Come and See for the variety and St Joseph School for the options. ;)

I ordered from Come and See Icons a couple of times. Never had any problems.

I think I would feel strange ordering icons online.  Kind of a too weird mix of modern and ancient.

That is probably just me though.  Fortunately, my parish sells them.
The term planet earth is an innovation which has arisen in recent centuries with the error of heliocentrism.

If one wants to confess a pure doctrine of Orthodoxy, they should be careful not to refer to the earth as a planet, unlike the current Pope as well as Patriarch Kirill and Patriarch Bartholomew, who regularly speak in error when they refer to our planet earth.

Get the Official Catalog called Orthodox Byzantine Icons[/u] and you fill out the money order and send it.

Cal-Hellas has beautiful icons, although they can be a bit expensive:

You should call over the phone and ask for a catalogue to be mailed to you.  The website is not that active, and orders are better handled over the phone.  They also have great incense.

Holy Transfiguration Monastery also has a large selection of great icons:

IIRC, it's the same as going to www.skete.com. St. Isaac of Syria Skete. (Apparently, it's again without a bishop.)

If you spend long enough on this forum, you'll come away with all sorts of weird, untrue ideas of Orthodox Christianity.

I would suggest most persons in general avoid any question beginning with why.

I ordered recently from Uncut Mountain.  I am thoroughly satisfied with the product.

I have ordered laminates from Skete.com in the past and no issues.

It's common knowledge that you secretly want to be born in early 17th century Russia.  As a serf or a royal, I know not.  Chances are serf.
