My coffee maker finally died due to me using it so much :( I was rather sad this morning. I had to make the coffee the long, old fashioned way which involved boiling water, throwing coffee grounds in and then pouring it into my cup with a strainer. It tasted rather odd.

You probably didn't boil it long enough. Ask your parents how to do it properly.

Coffee ground for filters will only lead to brown water without a filter pot. Might want to get a French press for such occasions.

Last night?  Split a Rodenbach 11.2oz bottle with my roommate (Flanders Red - kinda sour style).  Today?  Cinnamon Dolce Latte from Starbucks (once a month treat).

Mind you, young man. You need to learn some manners. That is seriously offending for any civilized human being.

I like any sort of tea if you put enough sugar into it. The only type of tea I dislike is the one in the pyramide-shaped bags. They taste like old socks.

Diet coke.  Ain't I creative?  I'm also a grammarian.  :police:

Die-it coke can kill you.

Artificial sweeteners are worse than high fructose corn syrup.
My first and last diet coke caused excruciating headaches. Then I found out that I am chemically sensitive to both Nutrasweet (aspartame) and Splenda. When I drank some Jamba Juice, not only did I have a headache, but also my heart started acting crazy as it felt like it was jumping. They told me that they use Splenda.

How fragile you must think humans to be.

You can drink formaldehyde if that is your cup of tea.
Aspartame can be converted to formaldehyde in the liver.
If you want to pickle your liver, that is your choice.
Why don't you tell us the whole story, Maria? You can get as much formaldehyde into your body by drinking tomato juice, and the amount produced is not enough to cause any problems, anyway.

That is a new world nightshade that kills everyone that Diet Coke doesn't.

Doesn't anyone go to school anymore?
Ignorance is not a lack, but a passion.

I prefer it as I prefer my coffee: black. But then again I'm not much of a tea-drinker. A little of citron-flavored green tea every now and then but mostly I tend to prefer coffee.

I sweeten my tea with honey from beehives in our pasture (a local beekeeper does the work with that, not me). It's supposedly good for the allergies, and it tastes great to my unrefined tongue.

ummmmm.... He runs counter to establishment advice. That is why he gets targeted.

Here is what he recommends. The Science behind his recommendations is pretty solid and gaining ground. The fact that the FDA has gone after him adds to his credibility not detracts from it. IMHO

Mercola advocates a diet consisting mostly of unprocessed foods. He sees value in paleolithic diets and advocates metabolic typing, and is a proponent of vegetable juicing.[16] Mercola argues fervently against over-consumption of sugar, especially high-fructose corn syrup, which is the predominant sweetener of many commercial sodas and soft drinks, and processed flour and grains, which the body rapidly converts into sugar. He has also been an advocate of increasing the consumption of Omega-3 fats and of strategies to greatly increase blood levels of Vitamin D3.

Mercola's dietary recommendations often put him at odds with mainstream dietary advice.[11] Mercola encourages the ingestion of unprocessed saturated fats, including unrefined coconut oil in place of polyunsaturated fats such as vegetable, corn, soy, safflower, sunflower and canola oils.[17]

I use a tiny scoop of pure organic stevia - from where else? trader joes!
Their stevia does not have a bad flavor at all.

I have also used xylitol. It is almost like sugar.

If you wish to be a bear of a man, you will drink juiced veggies flavored with horseradish. Now that is what a real man drinks.

None of that Monsanto's V8.

Don't forget the vodka, Worcestershire and Tabasco.

When I grow up, I want to be a bearded alcohol consuming, venom spewing, grizzly bear wrestling marksmen old cuss who's mastered the ways of the wilderness and perfected the art of incorporating profanity into every part of speech just like Punch when I grow up  ;D That's what I call a cool old man.

You wish to be a bear when you're older?

Your vegetable juice and horseradish made me think of a Bloody Mary, but in honor of your name I would pick the Bloody Maria, which uses tequila instead of vodka.

Bingo. Kool-Aid is part of Monsanto's huge monopoly.
I would never drink that poisonous cocktail composed of artificial color, artificial flavors and sugar.

So, when people drink Kool-Aid, they become sick, and if they are smart,

Another generalization.  Not everyone who drinks Kool-Aid becomes sick.

then they will STOP drinking Kool-Aid, and then seek the help of Dr. Mercola.

Are you a major owner of Trader Joe's?   ???

No, I wish! I do not own a single stock of TJs.

The sugar in Kool-Aid can lead to high blood pressure, high blood sugar (diabetes), and gall stones per my M.D. Since giving up all sugar, my blood pressure has normalized, and my blood sugar is starting to shift into the normal range. My incidence of gall bladder attacks has been reduced too.

p.s. my last drink consisted of my elixir:
the juice left in the pan when I steamed some organic cauliflower and organic potatoes.
My husband turns up his nose, but joyfully feeds me this elixir. :)

I do not toss anything away if I can use it.

TJs is privately owned by a German company although you probably knew that.

You can eat the low fat, no processed sugar diet and still need to have a gallbladder removed.

I've just had orange juice with breakfast, and I'm just sat down to enjoy my coffee.

I am good about avoiding sugar, not so good about avoiding Splenda. What do you use instead?

I use a tiny scoop of pure organic stevia - from where else? trader joes!
Their stevia does not have a bad flavor at all.

I have also used xylitol. It is almost like sugar.

Thanks a million. The stevia I have used in drinks is sub par :)

I will try Trader Joes...

Coffee, Peets House Blend... But with cream from grass fed cows kept on pasture. It's so thick you have to use a spoon. I got from my Amish Farm connection. This time of year the cows are eating fast growing spring grass so the raw milk and cream are the best of the year.
