Enjoying a bit of cider right now. The last glass out of the bottle, in fact.

Isn't it a tad early for cider?

I suppose it's never too early for cider.

Cider sounds good, I've been craving it. Not a big fan of the powder stuff though.

Currently woke up and since I no longer have a car to go to Church and won't be communing sadly, I am drinking coffee. I really should stop drinking this stuff, I feel it does more bad than good. *shrug*

Throw any vodka in there? Hope not. Not only is it lent, but it's a waste of vodka. Unless you are making a cocktail, you drink vodka neat.

Instant tea, or as I like to call it "sugar water in a glass" is only about half as horribly disgusting as instant coffee.

There's a lot more you can do to make instant coffee palatable than instant tea, though.

Costa (the Starbucks of Britain) offered this over the holiday season:

Hot spiced apple juice, served with a cinnamon stick and a star anise, even in the takeaway cups. It went a long way in helping me cope with the fast.

It was. The only problem, for me at least, was that I had to fish out the star anise after a short while. The drink itself was very hot, and if I left the star anise in until it came down to drinkable temperature, its flavour became overpowering.

Yellow Tail Shiraz-Cabernet. Somewhere between merry and intoxicated. Time to go listen to Brahms, and them hopefully I am sober enough to either write a sonnet or watch House of Cards.

Oh, is beer bad during Lent?  I thought you went to a Russian parish.

Besides, it's made with peaches, so, you know, fruit.

I basically had bread and jam.

I do go to a Russian parish, a very strict Russian parish. Yesterday was a wine day because of the finding of the head of St. John the Baptist. Today isn't a wine day however. It's okay, I still love you, I don't judge people :)

I'd rather read St Gregory Palamas.  I'd like to add though; you can have sinful thoughts -- we all do but you aren't suppose to entertain the thoughts. Like what St. Paisios said about the planes finding a landing. Every sin started as a thought.

At any rate, back to the topic. I drank coffee with non-dairy creamer because soy milk doesn't mix well and soy milk gives you man boobs (it has estrogen in it).

I can resist everything except temptation.

Case in point, I had a delightful glass of ouzo on this beautiful spring day.

This profile is defunct as of 11/8/2017. I created it before Orthodoxy, and have used it after Orthodoxy.

I reject all that I wrote that isn't in accordance with the teachings of the Orthodox Church. Also, my posts reflect my opinions (present or former) and nothing else.

I will likely lurk on this forum under a different name.
