Green tea.

I recently gave up my morning coffee for green tea instead. Mostly because coffee isn't good for digestion and I've had both digestion problems and kidney stones in the past. Coffee can increase your risk so I needed to find an alternative. I've read more bad things about coffee than I have about green tea. My doctor has even said I should stop drinking coffee because it's not all that good for you.

Materva and a light rum on ice. It's good! You should try it. Lime or orange as garnish is your choice.

The blood of a newborn child, obtained and consumed in the traditional fashion (that is, the child being 66 hours and 6 minutes old, the blood being sacrificially obtained using the shattered rib of a virgin male teenager while chanting Led Zeppelin IV lyrics backwards, and being drunk from the skull of an elderly school bus driver while "Reign in Blood" by Slayer played in the background.)

A cold glass of water, I cannot remember the last time I had plain water.
This profile is defunct as of 11/8/2017. I created it before Orthodoxy, and have used it after Orthodoxy.

I reject all that I wrote that isn't in accordance with the teachings of the Orthodox Church. Also, my posts reflect my opinions (present or former) and nothing else.

I will likely lurk on this forum under a different name.

If you only have milk chocolate cocoa in the house like I do and don't want to break the fast but still want something good and creamy to drink. Try Abuelita, the directions say to make it with milk but you can use water and it taste the same. There is no milk in the ingredients. If you haven't had it before, it's a cocoa and cinnamon drink, really tasty.

Edit because I forgot to add an A at the end of cocoa   >_>

Dr. Pepper.   It keeps me going.  I used to indulge in luxurious Belgian beer, Rochefort 10 and the Lambic fruit beers being my favorites.  And cream and amontillado sherry.  But lately I've had an adverse reaction every time I've had alcohol so until it goes away, the Eucharist is as close as I'll come to drinking it.  The Eucharist doesn't affect me like alcohol though, probably because it isn't.  The one time it did was at an episcopal parish where I took communion in ages past; they used white wine which always have me heartburn.  The conservative priest, now retired, was my friend.  But I decided to become Orthodox and told him a factor in my decision was, aside from the moral bankruptcy of his bishop, the fact that I did not believe Christ was really present in the Eucharist; for whatever reason, their sacraments lacked grace, grace which I have experienced in the Orthodox Church.  Also the mere use of white wine seemed to me as though they were consciously trying to downplay the idea that the wine was in fact the blood of Christ.
Axios and many years to you, Fr. Trenham!

I never know what to put in my coffee on fast days. I am doing an oldie but a goodie, hot coco mix with coffee.

non-dairy powdered creamer. As for sugar, I don't think that's prohibited, but you can always use Truvia or one of those alternatives which taste almost the same. Fortunately for me, I grew up on non-dairy powdered creamer since before I even became Orthodox because that was all my parents bought due to my dad's health or something.

I've never been one for straight milk in my coffee. It makes the coffee too cold.

Sugar is fine. As for the milky stuff, you can try almond or coconut milk. They do have flavours of their own, unlike dairy milk, but you won't know without trying. Just skip the sugar if you get a sweetened version.

I always find that almond and coconut milk doesn't mix very well. I use to worry that non-dairy creamer has whey in it (a milk byproduct) but the Abbot at St. Anthony's tells people not to worry about the label to much. Just look and make sure wither or not it contains milk or not. If it has milk, don't use it and don't worry so much about byproducts that are hidden in a label because that's called false asceticism.

The proper answer is nothing, always.

The gay guys don't do the cooking, that's why it wasn't fabulous.

Anyway, what did you expect?  It's Sonic.

I actually rather like Sonic, so...but I sort of wish I had gotten the regular chicken strips. These were too small. I was not expecting home cooking or anything fancy, but instead good fast food, even great. Hardees and Arby's have the best tenders no doubt. Dairy Queen is good, too, and they have the best deal. A $5 chicken strip meal with four tenders, fries, and a sundae. I always get extra fries in place of the sundae.
