Holy Week on the Forum
« on: April 24, 2013, 06:19:53 PM »
Good day, denizens of OC.net!

It is customary for us to observe a forum shut-down at the end of Great and Holy Week while we remember the Crucifixion and Burial of our Lord, God, and Savior Jesus Christ.

The plan (at least for now) is for the forum to be shut down on Holy Thursday evening at around 11pm US EDT, and for it to re-open on Holy Saturday evening (I'm assuming around 8 or 9pm US EDT) so the Eastern Hemisphere folks can begin passing Paschal messages.

May you all enjoy a spiritually rich Holy Week leading to a glorious and joyful celebration of Pascha!

The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that “my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."" The memory of God should be treasured in our hearts like the precious pearl mentioned in the Holy Gospel. Our life's goal should be to nurture and contemplate God always within, and never let it depart, for this steadfastness will drive demons away from us. - Paraphrased from St. Philotheus of Sinai
