Prayers For Those Injured In The Boston Marathon
« on: April 15, 2013, 03:29:07 PM »
There have been some explosions in Boston along the Marathon route. Many have been injured. Of your charity, please pray for the injured, their families and friends.

Just read about it.

Lord have mercy!
Do not be cast down over the struggle - the Lord loves a brave warrior. The Lord loves the soul that is valiant.

Do not gloat over me, my enemy!

Though I sit in darkness,
    the Lord will be my light.

Lord have mercy!
Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,
and urgent strife sheds blood.
If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
if you spit on it, it will be put out;
                           and both come out of your mouth

Lord have mercy.
Many Energies, 3 Persons, 2 Natures, 1 God, 1 Church, 1 Baptism, and 1 Cup. The Son begotten only from the Father, the Spirit proceeding only from the Father, Each glorifying the Other. The Son sends the Spirit, the Spirit Reveals the Son, the Father is seen in the Son. The Spirit spoke through the Prophets and Fathers and does so even today.

Lord, have mercy!!!
Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy.

And for those who have died ... may their memory be eternal.
The memory of God should be treasured in our hearts like the precious pearl mentioned in the Holy Gospel. Our life's goal should be to nurture and contemplate God always within, and never let it depart, for this steadfastness will drive demons away from us. - Paraphrased from St. Philotheus of Sinai

Lord, have mercy.  I work at Berklee College of Music, and our office is about 3 blocks from the explosion site.  The campus spreads out to very near the actual site.  Lucky for us it was Patriots' Day and the college was closed.  Not sure if we're open tomorrow or not.  I was down near Copley Square a little before noon...thank God I was home when this happened.

Lord, have mercy on them all. As to the dead may their memory be eternal.  :'(
Psalm 37:23 The Lord guides a man safely in the way he should go.

Prov. 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.

Update: three are now dead. May their memory be eternal.

More than 100 are injured. Lord have mercy.
