Just got off the phone with Angell (12:30) and Daisy is improving.  Her kidney values are 30.  She's still rather picky eating.  Last night Dr. Jay actually sat with her and made a soupy mixture she used a syringe to feed her.  She didn't mind that too much.  They are projecting her to come home tomorrow with lots of meds.  Injections might be a part of her care at home...not sure yet.  They think she had a case of pancreatitis.  Will get another update around 5pm.

Pancreatitis?  Is this as serious in dogs as it is in human beings?

Glory to God she continues to improve.
Lord have mercy on Daisy and her master Monk Vasyl.  Please let Your grace abound in healing Daisy.

Thank God. I hope she continues to improve. I have been worried about this. I lost my loving beagle companion, Pika, one month ago.

Biro was very helpful to me in this regard and we are really blessed to have her here.

Just got off the phone with Dr Jay...Daisy is eating, not the right foods but eating.  She will be on a low protein diet.  I will be taught how to give under the skin fluid injections at 6pm. I am so happy she is coming home tonight.

Dear Monk Vasyl ,

It's actually easy to give injections under a dog's skin. I did it for my parent's dog for a long time.  She was so happy to have me holding her and praising her that she never noticed the injections.  Also I used a very fine, short needle.

That's awesome!! Glory to God!!

I agree with Elephant, most sporting and work dogs have been bred to have a much higher pain tolerance - and simply don't feel the stuff that goes skin deep. Smiley

But it's a great excuse for a good healthy treat (a ball!! Cheesy and time with dad!!)!

When I got home from church, tonight, Daisy began to go down hill.  She couldn't walk and she had a blank stare and was moaning all the way to Angell.  I had no choice but to let her go.  She was the same age as Bella was when I lost her and her 2 yr anniversary will be on April 28th.

So very, very sad!  Cry Cry Cry I've had to say goodbye to two cats in the last three years, so I know what it's like.

May you be comforted by the many memories you have of your dear, sweet Daisy. You and the vet did all you could for her. I'm sure she's in critter heaven, with your beloved Bella.

Thank you all for your prayers and concern.  With the lock down of Boston, I was lucky not to have to deal with work, today.
