U.S. actress Annette Funicello has died
« on: April 08, 2013, 01:51:07 PM »
Annette Funicello, an American actress who got her start on the Mickey Mouse Club and went on to many screen roles, has died after complications of multiple sclerosis. She was 70.

From the article:
Funicello was 12 when she became a Mouseketeer. As a teen, she was launched on a successful singing and acting career, but she really gained popularity when she co-starred with Frankie Avalon in a series of "Beach Party" movies in the mid-1960s.

Rest in peace.
My only weakness is, well, never mind

And you'll sleep, but they'll find you

Come back my dream into my arms, into my arms

London is drowning, and I live by the river

I watched the Mickey Mouse Club in the 1950s and the Beach Party movies in the 60s. I suppose I might have had a bit of a crush on Annette, but I always knew she was just a few years too old for me. My wife and I were talking just a few days ago how so many of the people we remember from earlier years are passing on. A reminder of our own advancing years.
