RIP Ebert. Although you jumped the shark years ago, and pretty much had the same format throughout, you still had pretty good taste on film.
Sure I prefer Kael because she seemed to rely more on pleasure than pretentiousness, but your weekly dirge into bad/good movies will be a loss. I definitely thank him for movies I would have never of thought to watch, like Aguirre: The Wrath of God for example. He did play it pedestrian, but overall he was one of the more objective critics, unlike Armond White who is about as
subjective obtuse as you could get.

I can't really single out a film review that stood out to me as his best. Although he was wrong about Blade Runner in 82, I can respect his revision of the Final Cut saying the romance scene was a dud (although I like it for it's awkwardness if you buy into the whole Deckard replicant thing).
