I know it's a little unorthodox to talk about a Catholic forum here ... but the thread about CAF has been going pretty well ... so here goes nothing ...

Does anyone know details about The Byzantine Forum (byzcath)? I've been trying to check for new post there but I keep getting an error message. Is it just having a little downtime?

I just got the same message, Peter.  So...maybe they're having some Bright Week issues  ;).  (Reminds me of how lately almost every Friday late morning/afternoon this board seems to disappear for anywhere up to almost a whole day.  ??? ???)

We're having some issues with the webhost that we are currently working on.
The Forum will remain offline until they are resolved (probably by Wednesday, April 3rd).

I got a message that I was forbidden.

Do you like that like, you're forbidden to do such-and-such, or that you yourself are forbidden?

It wasn't personal, I got the same message, they appear to still be down.

Anyway Isa has fun there poking holes in the arguments and nationalist sentiments of over the top apologists for the UGCC. Most of the time on other topics he is quite polite, but then again there are no maps there....  ;)

Too bad the CAPTCHA in the registration doesn't work. I guess ByzCath will have to stay bereft of my guiding light.

I don't think so. Deacon Lance is a moderator there so perhaps he could help.

I don't think John is aware of it, I'll bring it to his attention. As noted above, we just recently changed servers and have also done a software upgrade, as a result, there are a few glitches still being worked out. Will let you know what I find out.

I noticed that too. It was most upsetting, as I tend to be trigger happy when it comes to posting. :(

The registration issue is fixed.

The missing edit button was identified as a clock problem (forum time was running ahead of real time by several hours - so, it read the edit time as having long since elapsed by the time a post was made). The clock was reset and the button briefly reappeared. However, it went missing after a day or so. It's now been restored in the PM mode but John is still working on restoring it to functionality in the post mode. Hopefully, it will be back again in a day or so.
