Which song?
I'd prefer to keep it a secret as the contents of said song may be controversial. If you know the language and think you could translate, send me a PM.

Thank you.

The song in question is in a Youtube video and I don't have the written lyrics available.

I have several friends who speak Farsi.  I can ask one of them if you'd like.

I once did some substitute teaching in a school that had many students from Iran. I learned two (and only two!!) sentences - how to say, "I am your friend" and "Where are we going?" I have been able to impress Farsi speakers a couple of times with the former. A few years ago, I was watching on TV some movie about the birth of Christ (sorry, no idea which one). The Magi were speaking an unknown language (English subtitles). Imagine my surprise when I heard one of them speak the second sentence that I knew!

Hey y'all,

 Don't know a single Iranian/Persian, but I'm thinking of learning Farsi.  It seems like a pretty language and I think we have some saints from the area that would be very interesting to read from.  So,  since this topic was started, do any y'all know Farsi?

Hey, Gabriel
I'm pretty decent in Persian. I'm half Persian and actually am taking an Intermediate course to get my skills out of their rusty state. I encourage you to learn the language. I'll be glad to help you get started by pointing you in the right direction. Let me know or PM me.

who would that be?

That said, yes, I know Persian (I don't say "Farsi", except when speaking Persian).
Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,
and urgent strife sheds blood.
If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
if you spit on it, it will be put out;
                           and both come out of your mouth

That's random. Have you studied Middle Eastern studies or something?

My goodness. You sure know how to pick your songs, don't you? :)
This is a Shia song that says some really bad stuff about Omar. You know, Omar is HATED in Shiism and in Iran in particular. No one names their kid Omar in Iran. Omar Khayyam, the poet and mathematician, gets a free pass because he was around several centuries before Persia became a Shia state.

There are a lot of stanzas in this song, including wishing that Omar's soul be damned. Also asking that Abu Lulo never tire. That's a Persian phrase said to someone who does a great service to you or work for you. Instead of saying thanks a lot, you say, "May you never tire."

Anyway I wouldn't play that thing around a Sunni who understands Persian. LOL
