Please pray for my father, who was admitted to the hospital late last night.

A few weeks ago he thought he had sprained a muscle in his leg while running on a treadmill and he was on crutches for some time. Thinking it would heal itself up quickly enough, he refused to go see a doctor. As time went on, the pain began to spread up and into his torso and it got worse every day. Yesterday evening he was watching me do some driving practice when he told me he had to sit down because he felt like he would pass out if he didn't. He asked me to drive him to the ER but my mom did it instead. They notified us that they would be admitting him at around 11:30, thinking at the time that he just had a bad case of pneumonia and that it would be safer just to watch him for the night. My mom came home from the hospital at around 2:00 AM and told my sister that after dad was moved from the ER to the hospital, the doctors had found a blood clot, probably a pulmonary embolism, in his left lung. I heard the news when I got up this morning.

I don't yet know how serious this is, and I hope that we've caught it early enough that it can be healed. Still, by what I've read it seems like cases like this can be life-threatening, so any prayers you can offer for him are deeply appreciated.

Thank you all!

Thank you so much for the prayers everyone! I've just received confirmation that my dad will be coming home from the hospital either tomorrow or the next day. The blood clots won't be dissolved for another few months at least, but he's definitely much better off than he was a few days ago and the doctors are almost convinced that he's ready to come home - there are just a few more tests to be run and checks to be made before they're ready to let him go. It would've been great to have had him home for Easter, but it's even better to know that he's on the mend and will be headed home soon. The whole family has received a ton of support from friends, family, and neighbors over the past few days and it's been hugely uplifting for all of us.

Thank you all once again for the prayers and support! I'll be glad to return the favor any time! Smiley
