Okay, I do not know much about Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs), so I checked out the NMEDA website to learn more about them.
However, there were no articles that discussed the various lifts or what they did.
The information was geared to helping handicapped individuals acquire the right vehicle or device.
I looked at this page, and clicked some links, but I am clueless.
http://www.nmeda.com/what-to-buy/Here are my questions:
a) What are
bridged mechanisms?
b)
Integrated manual backup systems are used when the power fails, so that outsiders can help the handicapped person get in or out of the vehicle, correct?
c) What are
sensor threshold mats?
Finally, what type of
lift feature warns users if the lift is not level with the floor of the van?
a, b, or c?
I think integrated manual backup systems (b) could be ruled out, and a mat (c) does not sound like a lift feature.
