Hello, everyone,

I haven't been receiving any of the posts here - I THINK I've found the problem, and hopefully have it fixed - so hopefully as that problem is resolved - and getting this one resolved, I'm hoping I'll be back more often.

I've also been battling for nearly six months to sleep.  I've recently given up driving any later than three pm because I am not alert enough to do so.  I have been trying to work this out with my sleep specialist for the last six months - but I'm still having some significant issues.  The most significant issue is severe apnea - I'm a hose-head, but there are other issues that are just as important that are preventing me from sleeping, or sleeping well.

My concentration level has been wiped out - it's hard to read anything or pay attention to anything passively (tv, radio, husband talking. . . Undecided

There IS good coming out of this . . .so please, I ask for you to pray for His Mercy.  His ways are so much higher than mine.

That I might face all things with peace of soul.

Thank you!

Praying that you get some restful and rejuvenating rest....and wake to a quiet morning.  Smiley

May the Lord have mercy and heal what it is that is causing your lack of sleep.

Lord have mercy!

I have had sleep issues in the past. Do you take magnesium? It won't help the apnea, but it's essential for relaxing our brains and we tend to be deficient. It helps me to sleep well.

I pray that you have a restful sleep soon.

Have you had a sleep study? If they figure out what exactly is wrong, they might address the issue.

God bless you and keep you.

I've had one sleep study - hence the apnea diagnosis, though my doc is willing to have me tested again so if things don't improve by mid March, I'm to call to have another one set up to see what else might be going on.

Hello dear sister. Could it be that your mind is preoccupied with thoughts/worries, etc? I have found that to be in my case. However, my situation was not as extreme as yours...I used Jesus prayer (Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, the sinner) and then my mind is concentrated on the prayer instead of daily problems...it helped me, it might help you as well.

Smiley  I have had two serious brain injuries in my teens and early twenties - they caused my sleep cycles to go askew.  So, so I often deal with insomia - but I've used that time for prayer for many many years - so worry does not have the opportunity to creep in.  Smiley

The main issues are the apnea - which are finally beginning to work their way out.  I have a new pillow, new bed, and different cpap machine.  Those are working together to help me to breath better.

And the other main issue is pain.  The new bed seems to be helping with this issue as well.

Last night I had an equipment malfunction, so my oxygen level got dangerously low - which alerted my brain an woke me up - and because my brain went into 'take care of the body mode' - it was a long time before I could go to sleep again.

So. . . many different issues working together to keep me from sleeping.  But if I don't sleep, I pray. . .and if I pray. . . then good happens.

But my days are a difficult to get through - no focus, no energy.

His will be done.
