Maybe it's just the health profession in me, but my God, more than the possibly notorious use of crosses and icons as fashion, these women really need to eat.
PS LOL at choy's comment!

I guess we can ask two of these ladies to stand in front of our Paschal procession. No need for banners on a pole.

Which begs the question, do we approach and kiss when we see someone walking down the street wearing this? Or light a candle and stand in front of them?

No, strip the ladies and burn the fabrics - then bury the ashes in clean ground. That's what a band of charitable parabolani should have done as soon as they stepped down that catwalk.

Which begs the question, do we approach and kiss when we see someone walking down the street wearing this? Or light a candle and stand in front of them? New idea - we'll all take a bus ride to the next fashion show these are held at and do this. Perhaps these women could lock arms, and we could have a liturgy with a Church and iconostas made of people? How modern! I dislike the outfits very much. They look ridiculous. What bothers me more than the use of the icons is the use of the cross in these outfits. Do they even know what they're wearing?! I mean, really? Really? (In other news, I believe we've found James' dream wife. Let's hope she can cook.)

I'm waiting for some bright young thing with more money than sense who'll think it's cool to wear such an outfit to an Orthodox wedding or Pascha. The poor girl won't know what hit her .... or who will get to her first - the priest or the babushki.

I actually like a couple of these. Some are innapropriate, but I like the concept. It's not the first attempt of bringing byzantine themes to modern fashion though. Here are two others: Nicole Miller 2006Chanel 2011

I do hope that The Lord forgive these people for their sick and mindless actions..
