Was I think yesterday.

The youtube for the Russian Patriarchate put out videos of it, there were some royalty there too (I saw at least "Grand Duchess" Maria Vladimirovna)

The celebrations:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxeKSHguYx4

Also, apparently they did some kind of special thing with the bells. They rang the Reut bell 400 times as well. I wonder if that is the bell that you can hear in the video, but I do not know.

(article about the bell ringing):

Funny, I was just reflecting yesterday how next year will be a century after WWI.

How is this a "Christian" news?

It is an activity of the Patriarch of Moscow; his activities are news, and he certainly is Christian, as were the Romanov's, Orthodox Christians in fact.

How is that relevant?

I do not understand why to celebrate the jubilee of a family that fought with the Church so harsh? Have they forgotten about Peter the Great, about Catherine II?

That I don't know about.  I guess you'd have to ask the Russian Orthodox Church.  I don't think, though, that yesterday was an anniversary pertaining to either Peter the Great or Catherine II--have either of them been canonized?

No - but this was a memorial service (moleben) for all the tsars and tsarinas. Catherine II was mentioned for sure by the deacon in the first link - I think Peter the Great, too.

Funny, I was just reflecting yesterday how next year will be a century after WWI.

Last month has been the anniversary of the the Edict of Milan in 313 - 1700 years of Christian freedom (in Europe, at least; with some interruptions in the past century).

It appears to be a Panachida or Trisagion to the Greek.

I couldn't help but chuckle to myself as the Protodeacon read the names of the departed royals in the Litany for the deceased. It reminded me the "Zadushno Subbotas" (All-Souls' Saturdays) of my childhood and the seemingly endless petitions by the priest in Slavonic, family by family, with repeated names by name from generations to generation. So, in the end we all stand the same before God. Saint or sinner, rich or poor, king or begger - just as St. John of Damascus observed so long, long ago.

I would nominate this for POM  my friend if I hadn't done one already for you!
