Looks like this is getting some buzz on FB: So who decided this was even good wardrobe wise to perform at a concert? And let me guess this guy sings bubblegum/dance/club music right.

The only thing that the outfit is missing in a shotgun blast to the face. Then pure hesychia...
Also we can only hope this thread becomes about homosexuality, as the singer is gay LGBT.

Strictly speaking, the outfit is not that of a monastic schema, though it borrows much of its imagery. Ghastly bad taste, at the very least.

In violation of the canons: "As it has been, from time to time, the practice of un-learned and unstable men in the barbarian lands to imitate our manner of dress and superficial demeanour, we declare and proclaim to the Gentiles, as it has been handed down to us, that whosoever cops the swag of bishop, presbyter, deacon, or laymen, let such a one be handed over to the governor of that city, that he may be revealed publicly as a phony." - Canon VI, 2nd Synod of Portland [COMMENTARY FROM THE STARBOARD: Skyler the Cypriot expands on the aformentioned canon, adding: "what is the son of vanity, that he is a poser for naught?"]

Not a fan, myself, but talentless he is not. He even stepped into Freddie Mercury's shoes and fronted Queen for a tour, I believe. The guy's a ridiculously good singer (even though his songs kind of suck).

It's definitely not from scripture or anything church-related. The language is modern Russian, not Church Slavonic, and what is written could be a poem or song lyrics.

I think he's some guy who won American Idol back in like 2008 and has spawned a couple of singles every here and there.

This action by Adam Lambert makes me wonder if it is not a political statement. I found a video on youtube of him singing Madonna's Ray of Light. He wore this "mockery" outfit during this concert, or at least while singing this song at the concert. The script on the outfit appears to have some Slavonic on it. The symbols seems to be a mis-mash of various things. Whoever designed it had some knowledge of the monastic schema.
Could it be a statement against the Church of Russia, or Russia? It has been said here that Adam Lambert is homosexual. Perhaps this is a kind of protest (like Madonna speaking out) against the recent laws in Russia concerning homosexuality?
For me, the Monastic schema has an other-wordliness. Its is quite visually striking. Personally, it is strange to see such a thing that Adam Lambert is wearing. It does seem a "mockery". Truly, it is, I believe though, just an act of ignorance, no matter the reason he wore it or the reason the designer designed it. I pray for those who are involved in its existence. I'm not personally outraged though. If Adam Lambert and the designer had ever spent time with a Holy elder or Holy Eldress of the Greatschema, I doubt that such a thing would have been designed by the designer or worn by Adam Lambert.
The hoodies and shirts designed by Death to the World, I think they have their place. I'm not going to beat down on them. They aren't for everyone, but for some, I think they can be a step, even though very small.
