As I was reading a Christian News post about a change of church jurisdiction, the question came to me.

As all Orthodox churches regardless of nationality share similar beliefs, why would a church or parish jump from one jurisdiction to another? Why would it matter? Like the nunnery in DC going to the ROCOR from OCA, etc.
