Mor Dionysius Behnan the former Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Jerusalem reposed in the Lord on 16-Feb-2014.

Born on  22-Aug-1925
Joined monastery : 1942
Tonsured a monk:  1947
Ordained a priest: 16-April-1954
Elevated as Bishop/Lebanon – 01-March-1959
Elevated as Archbishop of Jerusalem – 1983

Since 1997 Mor Dionysius retired from his role as the Archbishop of Jerusalem and had been living at St. Ephrem Monastery, Damascus Syria.
He will be laid to rest at the Virgin Mary Church, Qamishli, Syria.

H.G Mor Divanasios Behnan was laid to rest on 19-Feb-2014. The funeral services were led by the  MOR  SILWANOS PETRUS  (Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Homs) and MOR TIMOTHEOS MATTA (Assistant to the Patriarch, Damascus) and H.G Sipan Kjjian (of the Armenian Orthodox Church).
