I was wondering- what is the reason during the Resurrection Matins for cycling through every color of vestment during the Odes? What is the symbolism for that?

Who on earth does that? And why?

I believe it is only a Russian tradition originating in Moscow.

As I grow older I find this flamboyance more annoying.

Living within fifty miles of Boys' Town will do that.

I asked at my parish today why the Russian Church does this and the reason I was given is that it is done to add to the festal nature of the Paschal service. More specifically, because Pascha is the Feast of Feasts in which all the others are fulfilled, the priest wears the colors of all the feasts to illustrate this.
