I thought it's impossible to descend with the DL below 45 minutes. Today I was proved wrong.

Why do posters that claim to have me blocked keep sending me pms and responding to my posts? That makes no sense.

Where? :o

The shortest byzantine Liturgy I've attended was in a Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church during weekday, about 35-40 minutes. Nothing was omitted (except such things as ektenies for catechumens, but they don't say it even on Sunday, so I don't count it), but practically all the prayers were said, not sung.

As for Orthodox, it's always have been at least one hour (maybe 1-2 times 55 minutes)

One time abouna had to leave very early to fly to California for a wedding, so the liturgy was two hours (it's usually about 3.5), 7:30 AM to 10 AM. Usually it's 8:30 to about noon. It was really weird to have the agape meal at 10 in the morning. It was quite a while ago, but I can't imagine that anything was skipped. Probably just the short forms of the prayers were used, maybe without the extended, heavily meslimatic introductory bits of the chants, etc.

Grabarka.

Probably because of the fast way of singing and nobody to the Eucharist, am I right? Because I don't suspect that in monastery they would abbreviate Liturgy

There was some retreat group. There were 20 people to Eucharist (out of 24).

:o again I can imagine Liturgy lasting ~50 minutes if there is 1-2 people to Eucharist, but 20??? And was there only one chalice?

So I wonder how they manged to do it.

No sermon, no litany for the departed, almost no singing (everything but Lord's Prayer and Communion hymn chanted), some short litany of fervent supplication. The actual service was a bit longer but I subtracted  the time spent for confessions and pre/post communion prayers as they are not used in regular services.

It looks like Grabarka is the place I've experienced my longest (>3:30) and shortest Liturgies.
