Tonight's the night! My doggies couldn't wait and jumped up on the bed this morning and started to "annoint" me with thier own special "chrism"
That seems like a good idea and reminds me of something. A while back I remember reading an article by the late Greek Theologian/Historian John Romanides in which he his belief that the early Christians, 3rd &4th century, would have catechumens constantly read the Psalter and that the Church readings from the first three Gospels would help them on their journey and developing their knowledge of Jesus Christ and the Salvation of man. Then once they had been baptized on Pascha the reading from the Gospel of John would lead them to a deeper and more profound understanding of who Jesus Christ is as they are now partaking of communion. Though this is not what the earliest churches did it sounded interesting and made sense considering the Church lectionary.
