Got bored yesterday and decided to search through ebay.  Came across this site which fasinated me.  I didn't even know there was such a thing as an Orthodox Prayer Ring.  I particularly like the wide banded one with the 'Jesus Prayer'  inscribed on it.

Also like the 'Guardian Angel' medal for my God daughter.  Check them out at -

Prayer rings like that are quite common in Russia. Last time I was there, I bought a gold one from a church shop, and it turned into quite a scene-the girls at the counter started yelling at each other because they "should have" charged me 5x as much when they heard me speak English!  Shocked

Coincidentally, I purchased one of those rings with the Jesus Prayer insciribed on it, from the exact same seller. It really is quite a beautiful piece and I have received a few compliments from people at my church about it. I think you'd be really happy with it if you get one for yourself, because I sure am!  Cool

Interesting.  I am also curious about the belt being sold by the same merchant.  It looks like a monk's belt, and I'm not sure if it would be out of place for a layman to wear that or not.

From what I understand, it is a monk's belt and I've wondered the same thing myself...
