Good Intentions
« on: December 12, 2012, 04:33:50 PM »
Since 2012 is drawing to a close it is time for our good intentions. In the Netherlands (and perhaps elsewhere too) we have this practice that at the end of every year we tell our good intentions for the next year to everyone (like "in 2013 I'm going to quit smoking"). Sadly, we also made it tradition to forget our good intentions before January the 3rd. But let's not mind that!

So, what are your good intentions for next year?

In the states we call them new years resolutions. We have a similar practice about forgetting them.  ;D

My resolutions for 2013:
- Grades of A- or better in all school work
- Plan and stick to a monthly budget
- Get down to 180 lbs. like I've been wanting to do for 15 years

Mine:

- Learn and pass my exams
- Try to limit my computer usage and do some useful things instead

Mine are the same as yours, Cyrillic. This last term really beat me up, and I need to start the new year with a fresh dose of confidence that with God's help I get up from here and do well again, especially to be able to finish and defend my thesis. I wouldn't mind losing a few pounds, too (ok, I guess that one's different than yours...from what I remember in the pic thread, you could stand to gain a few  :P). That's a bad side effect of being cooped up in this apartment for months on end, pushing myself maybe a bit too hard to get things done on schedule. I tend to forget that other things are important, too, and lose the balance I should have in life. God didn't make us to sit here all day (whether working or playing or whatever), I'm sure of that.  :)

Mid-year update.

Grades -- Failed.
Budget -- Failed.
Weight -- Working on it.

Hell is straight ahead...good.  For a moment, I thought I was lost.
