Asia needs a lot of prayer.
Although the figure from the BBC says something like 3,200 people in India died, I think the number may be much more than that. My grandfather called from India saying that, according to a report from an Indian news source (TV) as he heard it, at a famous Roman Catholic Marian shrine on the coast, something like 6,000
people attending post-Christmas services and otherwise milling about on the beach by the shrine were swept away by the sea in one wave
. I usually watch the news very passively, but must admit that the pictures here, and the stories from over there, are very sobering.
