A few years ago I woke up interested in Orthodoxy. I spent the next few years struggling with the question, "Who's right?" My family and I eventually decided to convert to Orthodoxy. There were some initial struggles telling everyone and dealing with the negative feedback from our Catholic friends and family. Those issues are gone, but this year has been very tough.

I dint think Ive ever felt this tempted and lost. And my wife has been suffering from a depression that seems to get worse every day. Is it coincidence? Is it because I made a mistake in converting or precisely because it was the right decision?

In any case, I'm asking for prayers for my family and me.

St. Luke, pray for us!

Lord have mercy!

Maybe my priest's advice will help you: in the beginning (before conversion and just right after it) God as a good Father leads us by the hand, but after some period, when we should be more mature, He lets go of your hand, but He stills being close to us - children must learn "walk" without any special help. At this time we should trust Him and use our experience and knowledge from the time God was leading us so closely.

As always, we have to go through difficult time that after it we can be stronger and more sure that our choice was right. So, pray and participate in the Holy Mysteries - that's the best treatment for our souls.

And of course, there's always the chance that what you are feeling and what your wife is suffering have nothing (or very little) to do with your decision. Perhaps there are other causes for this.
