Bishop
John (Kallos) of Amorion has reposed in peace. He was 84. His Grace had
served as director of St. Photios Shrine in St. Augustine, Florida.
From the first article:
He became the first American- born bishop in the Greek Orthodox Church of America when he was ordained by the late Archbishop Iakovos of America and two other hierarchs on Jan. 17, 1971, at the Annunciation Cathedral in Houston. He served as auxiliary bishop in Houston (1971-1973), and Denver (Jan. 1, 1989); for reasons of health, he resigned as Bishop of Atlanta.
Memory eternal.
