Let's see how interesting Cyrillic is before this thread tanks. We are going to ask him anything.
I'll start, so what are these "two secrets" you have?

Boring secrets, but here I go:
1) My intent to become Orthodox sometimes.
2) The girl whom I like.
Anyone can chip in and ask questions.

Well I can tell this thread is on its way to a bust... Boring secrets, but here I go:
1) My intent to become Orthodox sometimes. What do you mean? 2) The girl whom I like. Why keep it a secret?

People willl think I lost my mind Basically, I can't find the courage. 2) The girl whom I like. Why keep it a secret? Good question. I am shy irl and have a fear of being rejected (not only with this, but in many other things as well)

I don't tell anyone. Especially not my parents. People willl think I lost my mind Basically, I can't find the courage. Were you in a schismatic Greek Satanist Church before? Would you get shunned bringing it up? Good question. I am shy irl and have a fear of being rejected (not only with this, but in many other things as well)
Well what is so great about this Beatrice? Are you driven by courtly love? Going off a few Facebook pictures you have up, you seem pretty sociable. Am I wrong?

Would you get shunned bringing it up? Probably not. They might think I'm some sort of fundamentalist. Well what is so great about this Beatrice? She's really nice and the only girl I know that's smart (I have high standards when it comes to the intellect) Going off a few Facebook pictures you have up, you seem pretty sociable. Am I wrong? Around friends and people I know a bit I have little problems.

What do you think of her being named Beatrice? Will you have her change her name immediately, or give her time to adjust to being with you first?

Probably not. They might think I'm some sort of fundamentalist. Oh just say you accept evolution and dinosaurs, and you'll be fine. Heck thrown in the Bible isn't infallible. Just wait until they see the rituals at home (or maybe thats me) She's really nice and the only girl I know that's smart (I have high standards when it comes to the intellect) How did you guys meet? Any similar interests like the history of Byzantium? What about her makes her smart? Around friends and people I know a bit I have little problems.
So with people you don't know, what then?

How did you guys meet? Any similar interests like the history of Byzantium? What about her makes her smart? School. And no, I'm the only one who's interested in Byzantine history (that's why I wrote that essay on it). Very cultured, well read and knows things about many subjects. So with people you don't know, what then? I usually hope they'll go away and mind their own business. I'll avoid eye contact and stammer a little. It's bad, I know. Of all available denominations you are about to join the oldest and the most conservative one and you fear that people might took you as a fundamentalist? Fundamentalist as in very strict.

I know what you meant but I hope you notice the irony in this. I actually have same kind of fear but I compensate my fundamentalism with long hair, gay-ish clothes, swearing, politically incorrect humour, smoking and alcohol. At least it breaks the stereotypes of religious people a bit.

Ok Cyr, you meet two girls who are absolutely perfect, but you can only have one. Girl #1 is wonderful but has man-hands. Girl #2 is wonderful but has a "tractor story" she hasn't shared with you yet. Which do you choose?

Go with the man's hands. You can always get gloves. Tractors are harder to solve. I remember this from when I was a wee lad (not totally understanding it) http://www.ovguide.com/tv_episode/love-american-style-season-4-episode-64-love-and-the-hand-maiden-15267Ok Cyr, you meet two girls who are absolutely perfect, but you can only have one. Man-hands. Definitely. Good man.

People willl think I lost my mind Americans will never understand what it's like for us in the lands of atheism. When I was in my teens I used to sneak out in the evenings to attend a nearby Catholic church without telling my parents where I was going. They kept asking me what her name was. When I finally decided to become Orthodox, I didn't tell them until a couple of weeks before I got chrismated, and only because my bishop insisted that they be present.
