The Most Reverend Jonah, Former Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada. Addressed as Your Eminence.

Why not "Beatitude"?

My understand is that he resigned from being metropolitan and did not retire like Met. Theodious and Met. Herman.

  • I'm just here for the food.
ROCOR and the MP consistently refer to him as "His Beatitude".
He spoke it as kindly and heartily as could be; as if a man dashed a gallon of cold water in your broth and never doubted you'd like it all the better.

Metropolitan Jonah is a good man, but are you really calling him a prophet?

No, I'm just saying that he seems to be respected more outside the OCA than inside the OCA.  To some he might be considered a prophet, only history will tell.

Not so far as I can tell, especially in GOA. But then that's just a personal observation - anecdotal at best.

Yes, I remember his comments that raised the eyebrows of GOA and EP.  Let's say he's held in more regard in the Russian churches, then.   ;)

The Third Rome has finally spoken in favor of Met. Jonah:
